Personal AI Memory Privacy Checklist
Use this practical checklist to assess what a personal AI remembers, how memory is used, and whether you can review and remove it.

Personal AI memory can make recurring conversations more useful, but it also creates questions about visibility, retention, correction, and deletion. Use this checklist before storing meaningful personal context in any AI product. It is designed to help you compare products consistently, not to replace a legal or security review.
Memory visibility
- [ ] Can you see what the system remembers?
- [ ] Can you tell whether a saved item is a direct note or an AI-generated summary?
- [ ] Does the product explain when memory influences a response?
- [ ] Can you see when a memory was last updated or used?
Control and correction
- [ ] Can you edit inaccurate or outdated context?
- [ ] Can you delete one memory without deleting everything?
- [ ] Can you stop a conversation from contributing to memory?
- [ ] Can you remove your account data through a documented process?
Data handling
- [ ] Is there a clear privacy policy?
- [ ] Does the product describe retention and third-party services?
- [ ] Are sensitive categories handled with appropriate limits?
- [ ] Can you avoid storing information you do not want processed?
Questions to ask before you decide
Use these questions when a product's documentation is unclear:
- What information is saved automatically, and what must I explicitly save?
- Can I review, correct, export, or remove my information without contacting support?
- What happens to my context if I cancel, delete my account, or the product changes its memory feature?
- Which providers process the data, and where can I find the current policy?
If a product cannot give a clear answer, avoid adding sensitive or irreplaceable personal information until you have more certainty.
Ongoing review
Privacy is not a one-time setting. Review saved context periodically, remove information that is no longer useful, and verify product documentation when features change. You can reuse this checklist in a team discussion, a product evaluation, or a personal quarterly review.
This checklist is general information, not legal advice. Gemora provides memory and privacy controls, and its current policies should be reviewed before use.
